Agreeable people can suffer from too much pleasing of others, and too little of what brings them joy.
Self-esteem and inconveniencing others
If we lack self-esteem, we may not feel able to influence others. However, starting with small situations, it is possible to build our confidence.
Finding our authentic voice
To be authentic, we may need to expose ourselves to rejection and unwelcome attention.
Do you want to be right, or do you want to have friends?
If we need to be right all the time, then we may get our own way. But, in the process, we may miss the chance to help others and make friends.
Standing up for yourself
Even if gentle, we need to stand up for ourselves to be wise.
