When we are hurt by relationships, it is usually our ego finding it difficult to cope with the possibility of loss. If we can learn to let go of our ego, we can be free to love without pain.
When coping with rejection, people vary in their resilience. But we can all learn to manage ourselves to be aware of our feelings, to be honest but discreet, and to move on if need be.
Anxiety is inner conflict. Often, there is a strong unconscious pull towards an inner wish, but an equally strong fear or repulsion. Living between these extremes can split us agonisingly between hope and fear.
